  • "Daycation" Trips

    Day trips that feel like a mini vacation. We explore places throughout the area and have a great time with friends. Note: Activity Fee May Apply - Limited Space Available! These are same-day trips out into the community lasting roughly 6 hours. All trips leave from (and return to) our Hawthorne parking lot:
  • Manhattanville Women's Hockey Game

    Let's watch a hockey game on Saturday January 4th, 2025. Drop off at noon 256 Hawthorne offices. We will provide a pizza lunch before departing to Rye Playland to support the Manhattanville University Women’s Hockey team. Pickup will be at 6:00 pm at our 265 Hawthorne offices. The fee for this program is $15.
  • Pinot’s Palette “Paint and Pizza” (2025)

    Join us on Saturday, February 1st for a day of art at Pinots Palette in Stamford CT. Drop off is at 12 noon at our 256 Hawthorne offices. We will provide lunch before departing to for Stamford CT and the Pinots Palette art studios, for a day painting and conversation . Pickup will be at 6 pm at our 265 Hawthorne offices. The cost for this program is $35.
  • Pizza, Bowling, and Arcade! (2025)

    Join us on Saturday, March 29th for a day of bowling at Point Break Bowl and Entertainment Center in West Haverstraw NY. Drop off is at 11:00 am at our 256 Hawthorne offices and pickup will be at 5:00 pm. The cost for this program is $30 , which includes, two games of bowling , game card for the arcade as well as lunch.
  • Indoor Mini Golf (2025)

    Join us on Saturday, April 19th as we enjoy a day of indoor miniature golf and outdoor/indoor games. Drop off is 11:00 am at 265 Hawthorne offices with pick up at 4:00 pm. We will have a pizza lunch then head out to the course. Cost for this program is $25
  • Walk over the Hudson

    Get your steps as we visit the Walkway over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie NY on Saturday, May 17th. We will be walking over the Hudson River, (1.28 miles total) taking in the Beauty of the Hudson River. For all those in attendance you will receive a special certificate of accomplishment for your participation. Drop off is at 10:00 am at our 265 Hawthorne offices with pick up is 4:00 pm at Hawthorne. Cost for this program is $20 which includes lunch. (Raindate Sunday, May 18)
  • Bowling Tournament June 7th

    SATURDAY, JUNE 7, 2025 Westchester VS. Rockland! Come bowl and party with your friends - and make new ones! The Arc Westchester's DayCation Group will take on The Bowling Buddies at Breakpoint Bowl in Haverstraw, NY. We will provide transportation to and from The Arc Westchester in Hawthorne. Leave Hawthorne at 10:45 am / Return at 5:45 pm. $30 per person
  • Boulders vs. Gateway Grizzlies Baseball Game

    NY Boulders Baseball is back! Join us on Saturday June14, 2025 as the Boulders take on the Gateway Grizzles at Clover Field Rockland County NY. Cost for this outing is $10.00. Please note, following the game will be a fireworks display and any additional items purchased at the venue will be the responsibility of the individual or their family. Departure from Hawthorne will be at 5:00pm with a return time of 10:30 pm.
  • The Arc Invitational Bowling Tournament & BBQ

    Westchester vs. Rockland - 4pm Bowling Tournament and lots of fun. Breakpoint Bowl in West Haverstraw, NY. Cost $25 includes Fees and shoe rentals, BBQ, drinks, prizes, awards, dj and dancing! Departure from Hawthorne will be 3:00 pm and return will be a 9:00 pm.
  • "Staycations" Trips

    Day activities that take place at our Hawthorne Offices. Drop off and pick up at 265 Saw Mill River Road, Hawthorne. These events will include snacks/food & beverages. Please Note: Activity Fee May Apply - Limited Space Available
  • Day of Rock (2025)

    Rock with us on Saturday, January 18, 2025 for a great time! Drop off at noon 256 Hawthorne offices. Join us in a day of creative music programing where the instructors from “Day of Rock” will make you part of the band. Pickup will be at 5pm at our 265 Hawthorne offices. The fee for this program is $10, which include lunch and snacks
  • Valentine's Day Party (2025)

    If you like to dance and meet new friends, you will want to attend the Arc of Westchester Valentine dance at the Arc Westchester 265 offices on Saturday February 15th. Drop off time for this event is 5:00 pm with pick up at 9:30 pm. The cost of this event is $10, light snacks will be provided.
  • March Madness (2025)

    Hawthorne is the place to be on Saturday, March 8th for college basketball. We will be viewing the many NCAA Mens basketball conference championship tournaments. Additionally, we will play sports trivia for prizes. Dropoff is 12 noon with pickup 5:00 pm, the cost of this program is $10 which includes lunch and snacks.

  • "Craft With Us" Spring Project (2025)

    Spend the day with us in Hawthorne on Saturday, April 5th, at our very popular activity with the folks from "Craft With Us." We'll start the day with pizza and snacks, then we follow the lead of the creative staff to design a painted, lighted, glass bottle!  Drop off is noon, and pick-up is 5:30pm at Hawthorne. Cost at drop-off: $10. Come show off your artistic side.
  • Weekend Trips

    Depart Friday at 3pm - Return Sunday at 3pm. All trips leave from (and return to) our Hawthorne parking lot.

  • Bowling League

    Join our 10-week bowling league the “Tuesday Titans” from 4pm to 6pm at Bowlero, 47 Tarrytown Road in White Plains. Individuals who are already at our building in Hawthorne attending “Choices” Day Program will be transported to bowling and back to Hawthorne by Arc Recreation staff. All others must be transported to and from the lanes by their family or Paratransit. Space is limited.Takes place on Tuesdays starting February 25th to April 29th. Cost: $120 for 10 weeks (Entry fee must be paid at or before the first week of bowling.)
  • The Playgroup Theatre

    This workshop will introduce participants to the basics of drama, theatre games, storytelling and performance. Students will learn how to use their bodies and voices as instruments of expression, follow creative impulses, work as an ensemble, and work with text to create a narrative. Basic props and costume elements will be introduced. A short play of their creation will be performed for their invited audience for the final session at PGT’s theatre.Join us and the Play Group Theatre in White Plains on 8 Saturdays: March 8, March 15, March 22, March 29, April 5, April 26, May 3, May 10, 2025The classes run from 10:30am – 12:30pm..There is no cost, however THIS PROGRAM IS AN 8-WEEK (Saturdays) COMMITMENT
